Take control of the MC as they struggle to balance their time between our favorite Dokis in a Post-Festival Mod as they compete once more for your love and affection as a dark, foreboding force seeks to tip the balance in their favor.

The ultimate goal of this Mod is to provide the player with a sense of closure over the events of the main game as they choose how to end the story once and for all in their image (for good or bad) all the while channeling the vibes of the original game.

The game forcefully deletes the character files in the beginning, but if you want to dig a bit deeper there's a way to unlock a 2nd full game hidden within the files.Doki Doki: Encore! seeks to provide the player with an immersive social and gaming experience not seen in most mods, with the player's choices significantly altering the way the mod is played. Several times through the game it seems that the MC knows more than he's letting on, but at the same time it's more like a deja-vu dream to him. Monika IS an option, but each character has their own story to tell should you pursue it. The MC has more personality as he's not some generic slouch, though the general beats to the base game are followed with these minor/major tweaks. Rather, the game takes place shortly before the base game had taken place and the mod forces the story to alter in a way that the MC is the Club President, Monika is the Childhood Friend, Sayori is a close friend of Monikas while the MC tutors her in math and Natsuki and Yuri remain relatively unchanged. Can you prove that happiness can be found here?ĭespite the name the mod isn't actually about Monika only. While Monika chooses to help you achieve the ending you wanted behind the scenes her route is still not an option. She reluctantly agrees to help you "save them". The mod starts in Monikas "space room" where she is not happy that you reinstalled the game and tries to delete it, but realizes her power to manipulate the game has been taken away by the mod. While this mod doesn't go through the "second half" of the base game it doesn't ignore what had taken place and even has a few cheeky reminders sprinkled about. This mod doesn't change much until after the Sunday choice, after which you get into deeper backstories of the characters that feature both a good ending and bad ending. If you happen to be a fan of dating sims or want a fuller DDLC story this mod adds +11 hours of additional content, custom music and delivers it's own messages of patience, trust and acceptance. Hint: Each character must love one of your poems at least once and none of them can hate any of your poems.

Monika is still self-aware, but has a valid reason for choosing not to corrupt the game which you will only achieve if you unlock her Sunday choice. The game doesn't change until you get to the Weekend choice. There's even a shortcut feature to blast through the 3 poem minigames with a result screen saying who Liked, Loved or Hated the poem. TLC is a rather short mod that aims to add endings to each of the characters. It doesn't really throw anything new at you, but rather offer a different perspective of the story. The Purist Mod would be my most recommended as it's not just a complete game in itself, but a sequel to what had happened (with you having 'reinstalled' the game) that doesn't seem like forced personal narrative from the author.

If what you're looking for are mods that incorporate alternative endings, taking into account everything presented with DDLC, then I've a few suggestions that I feel stay true to the core of DDLCs story. When you've gone this far to bastardize the source material you may as well be playing a different game because it's no longer DDLC at this point. They aren't even the same characters, just shallow imitations that only "look" like the characters from DDLC and anything that endeared you to them is lost. They strip away the soul from DDLC and turn it into something it's not. I hate mods that ignore the "second half" of the game.
